大谷選手から贈られたグローブと手紙

令和5年12月27日（水曜日）
　ニュースでも報道されていましたが、アメリカのメジャーリーグで活躍している大谷翔平選手が日本全国の小学校にグローブを贈ってくれました。グローブは3つで、二つが右利き用、一つは左利き用です。一緒に届いた手紙にはこのように書いてあります。
「ロサンジェルス・エンゼルス・オブ・アナハイムのメジャーリーガー、大谷翔平です。
　この手紙は、このたび私が学校に通う子供たちが野球に興味を持ってもらうために立ち上げたプログラムをご紹介するためのものです。
　この3つの野球グローブは学校への寄付となります。
　それ以上に私はこのグローブが、私たちの次の世代に夢を与え、勇気づけるためのシンボルとなることを望んでいます。それは、野球こそが、私が充実した人生を送る機会を与えてくれたスポーツだからです。
　このグローブを学校でお互いに共有し、野球を楽しんでもらうために、私からのこの個人的なメッセージを学校の生徒たちに伝えていただければ幸いです。
　この機会に、グローブを寄贈させていただけることに感謝いたします。

As you may know from the news on TV and other media, Mr. Ohtani Shohei, a professional baseball player in the Major League in the USA, gave baseball gloves to all the elementary schools in Japan. We have received three baseball gloves; two are for the right-handed, and one is for the left-handed. He also wrote a letter like this:

"Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Major League Baseball player Shohei Ohtani here.

This letter is to introduce a program I have launched for schoolchildren to develop an interest in baseball. The three baseball gloves accompanying this letter are a donation to schools.
Beyond that, I hope these gloves become a symbol that inspires and encourages the next generation. Baseball has given me opportunities for a fulfilling life, and I wish the same for others.
To promote the enjoyment of baseball, I kindly ask that you share these gloves among students at your school. Please convey this personal message from me to the students.
I am grateful for the opportunity to donate these gloves.

　令和5年度墨田区青少年健全育成区民大会が曳舟文化センターで行われました。大会の中で、健全育成作文コンクールの入賞者の表彰が行われ、三吾小の子供たちも表彰されました。3年生のFさんは、最優秀賞に輝き、加藤教育長から直接賞状を授与されました。その後、Fさんは、3年生代表として作文の朗読を行い、会場にいた人たちを感動の渦に巻き込みました。

Today, the Sumida City Youth Healthy Development Citizens’ Conference 2023 was held at the Hikifune Cultural Center. During the conference, the Healthy Development Essay Contest winners of the year were awarded, and San-Azu Elementary School students were honored. Ms. F., a third-grader, won the grand prize and received a certificate directly from Mr. Kato, the superintendent of the Sumida City Education Board. After that, Ms. F. read her essay to represent all the third-graders and significantly moved the people in the venue.

Today, the fourth graders participated in the 73rd Sumida City Elementary Schools Music Festival at Sumida Triphony Hall. We rented city buses and headed to the hall while practicing singing on the bus. In the performance, the best singing voice of the fourth graders echoed in the Triphony Hall, which is proud of the world.

　今日は、子供たちが楽しみにしていたPTA主催の「さんあづフェスタ」が行われました。昨日までとは打って変わって、北風の寒い日となりましたが、たくさんの子供たちが参加して大いに盛り上がりました。今年は児童の実行委員も募り、自分たちで話し合って、企画・運営を行いました。特に6年生は最後の最後まで後片付けや掃除まで頑張ってくれました。PTAのみなさま、今日は本当にありがとうございました。

Today, the PTA-sponsored “San-Azu Festa” was held, which the children had been looking forward to. It was a cold day with a north wind, but many children participated and had much fun. This year, we also recruited student executive committee members, who discussed, planned, and operated the event themselves. Especially the sixth graders worked hard until the very end, cleaning up and cleaning. Thank you very much to all the PTA members for today.

　今日は、待ちに待った三吾スポーツ・フェスティバルの日でした。ちょうど良く薄曇りになり、気持ちのいい秋の風の中、4年ぶりに全校児童が一堂に会して行われました。この新しい運動会は、勝ち負けだけにこだわらず、運動の得意な人も得意でない人も、みんなで楽しむことのできる「スポーツのお祭り」にすることを目当てに行ってきました。「みんなで協力し、全力で、素敵なスポーツフェスティバルにしよう」のスローガン通り、みんなが思う存分力を発揮して、とても楽しい運動会になりました。
　ご協力いただきました保護者の皆様、地域の皆様、どうも有り難うございました。

Today, we had the long-awaited San-Azu Sports Festival. It was a nicely cloudy day, and in the pleasant autumn breeze, all the students gathered for the first time in four years. This new sports festival aimed to make it a “sports festival” where everyone can enjoy sports without being obsessed with winning or losing, whether they are good at sports or not. As the slogan “Let’s cooperate with everyone, do our best, and make a wonderful sports festival” says, everyone showed their full potential and had an enjoyable sports festival.
Thank you very much to all the parents and community members who cooperated with us.

　いよいよスポーツフェスティバルが明日と迫ってきました。今朝は、全校体育朝会で応援の練習を行いました。応援団に合わせて、手拍子や声援を送っていました。

The sports festival is finally coming tomorrow. This morning, we practiced cheering at the P.E. Morning Assembly. Students clapped and cheered along with the cheerleading team.

The cheerleaders were practicing in the schoolyard in the morning. Yesterday and today, some children from a nearby nursery came to watch the first graders practice. The first graders were very enthusiastic.

Today, the annual “Rope Jump X Terachu Cup” was held in the schoolyard. Children from first to sixth grade who had been practicing since September tried their best to achieve their records.

The first graders, many of whom had been absent until last week, finally got well, so they tried to go out to find bugs again! Today, they went to the Nakagawa River bank and found some autumn bugs. 　今日から秋の学校公開が始まりました。4年生はゲスト・ティーチャーの先生を招いて、輝く泥団子作りに挑戦していました。

　第三吾嬬小学校は今年、開校148年目を迎えています。今日、ある先生が、明治通りのバス停の近くのお店の前にこんなポスターが掲示されていますよと教えてくださいました。あと2年で150周年の節目の年を迎えますが、末永く町の皆さんに愛される学校であってほしいですね。

Daisan-Azuma Elementary School is celebrating its 148th anniversary this year. Today, a teacher told me that a poster is in front of a shop near the bus stop on Meiji Dori Street. In two years, we will reach the milestone of 150 years. I hope the school will be loved long by the people in the town.

花壇の花の植え替え

　今日から、令和5年度後期がスタータしました。
　先週、インフルエンザの影響で延期になっていた委員会活動が6時間目に行われました。環境委員会は、はなみずき通りの花壇の花の植え替えを行いました。秋のかわいい花がすらりと並びました。

Today, the second semester of the school year 2023-24 started.
Last week, the committee activities postponed due to the influenza outbreak were held in the sixth period. The environmental committee changed the flowers in the flower beds along Hanamizuki Street. Cute autumn flowers lined up neatly.
