八広中央公園にて

令和5年10月6日（金曜日）
　今日は前期最後の日、終業式が行われました。1年生は、秋のきもちいい青空の下、八広中央公園に遊びに行きました。虫をとったり、遊具で遊んだり、とても楽しそうでした。（校長室動画通信にて紹介しています。）
　校庭では、6年生がスポーツフェスティバルの練習をしていました。実行委員の皆さんの説明を聞いた後、実際に競技の練習をしてみました。

Today was the last day of the first semester, and we had a closing ceremony.
The first graders went to play at Yahiro Central Park under the pleasant blue sky of autumn. They had a lot of fun catching bugs and playing on the playground equipment. (You can see it on the "PPrincipal'sMotion Picture Report" site.)
I" the schoolyard, the sixth graders were practicing for the sports festival. After listening to the explanation from the executive committee members, they tried out some of the competitions.

　今日は9月の土曜学校公開日でした。5年2組はインフルエンザのため学級閉鎖となりました。4年生で水道キャラバンの特別学習、1年生でリズムと音楽の特別学習、6年生は日光移動教室の学習発表会を行っていました。

Today, we had the open day of the Saturday school in September. Class 5-2 was closed due to influenza. The fourth graders had a special study on the Water Supply Caravan, the first graders had a special study on rhythm and music, and the sixth graders had a presentation on their Nikko field trip.

　5年生は、信州高遠自然の家で、2泊3日の移動教室に行ってきました。飯ごう炊さんや車山ハイキング、ぶどう狩りなどたくさんの楽しい思い出ができました。

The fifth graders went to Shinshu Takato Nature House for a three-day field trip. They made a lot of fun memories, such as outdoor cooking of curry and rice, hiking on Mt. Kurumayama, and grape picking.

　今日は外部の方との交流がたくさんありました。
　6年生は、9月のふれあいサロンで地域のお年寄りに歌のプレゼントをしました。3年生は新日本フィルのみなさんと「ワクワク音楽道」の特別授業を行いました。午後は5年生が、東京都の音楽の先生たちの研究会の特別授業で、他の学校の先生に歌い方を教わりました。

Today, we had many interactions with external individuals.

• The 6th graders had an opportunity to meet with local elderly people at the “Fureai Salon” in September and sang a song for them.
• The 3rd graders had a special lesson, “Wakuwaku Ongakudo” with the musicians of the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.
• In the afternoon, the 5th graders attended a special music class organized by music teachers of the Tokyo Metropolitan Public Elementary schools. They learned singing techniques from a teachers of another school in Tokyo.

　今日は6年生が、寺島中学校の体験授業に参加してきました。第三寺島小学校の6年生と一緒に、寺島中学校の10科目の授業を、それぞれ分かれて受けました。とても楽しい授業でした。

The sixth graders participated in a trial lesson at Terajima Junior High School today. Together with the sixth graders from Daisan-Terajima Elementary School, they took classes in all ten subjects offered at Terajima Junior High School, each group separately. They all had a good time.

ミッション1：ペーパータワー

令和5年9月19日（火曜日）
　4年生は、株式会社FLY HIGHプロデュースの笑顔と学びの体験活動プロジェクト「チーム・ビルディング・プログラム」の体験学習を行いました。これは、少人数のグループで協力して、与えられたミッションに取り組む活動で、今回は二つのミッションに挑戦しました。
　ミッション1は、「A4の紙20枚を使って、6分間で80cm以上のできるだけ高いタワーを作る」というもの。
　ミッション2は、「プラスチックストローと50センチくらいのセロファンテープをつかって、肩の高さから落とした卵がわれないようにする」というもの。
　グループで相談タイムを取った後、各グループごとに課題に取り組みました。どちらのミッションも成功したのは2，3グループだけでしたが、仲間と協力して、豊かな発想で課題に取り組む「課題解決学習（Project-Based Learning)」でした。この活動は、全日本代表のスポーツ選手などにも取り入れられているチーム・ビルディングのためのプログラムだそうです。
　楽しく、有意義な時間となりました。

The 4th graders had an experiential learning program called “Team Building Program,” produced by FLY HIGH Corporation. This program involves small groups working together to tackle given missions. This time, they took on two tasks.
Mission 1 was to “build the tallest tower possible using 20 sheets of A4 paper within 6 minutes, with a minimum height of 80 cm.”
Mission 2 was to “use plastic straws and cellophane tape about 50 cm long to prevent an egg dropped from shoulder height from breaking.”
After taking consultation time in groups, each group worked on their respective tasks. Only two or three groups succeeded in both missions. It was a “project-based learning” experience where they collaborated with their peers on studies with rich ideas. This activity is part of a team-building program that representatives of the Japanese national team and other sports athletes also implement.
It was a fun and meaningful time.

　今日は、毎年恒例のロープジャンプX大会に向けての練習会が始まりました。子ども会の皆さんが中心になって、地域や保護者の皆さんがたくさん駆けつけてくださいました。子どもたちもたくさん集まり、今年も盛り上がりそうです。

Today, practice sessions for the annual Rope Jump X Tournament have begun. Many community members and parents have gathered to support the children’s association. The children are also gathering in large numbers, and it seems like it will be an exciting event this year.

　今日は、6年生が社会科見学で国会議事堂の見学、科学技術館での体験学習を行いました。参議院では、新しい法案作り体験プログラムにも参加しました。

Today, the 6th graders visited the National Diet Building on a social studies field trip. They also had an experiential learning session at the National Museum of Science and Technology. At the House of Councillors, they participated in a new bill-making experience program.

三吾図書館リニューアル中

　いよいよ明日から学校が再開します。再開に備え、今日は先生方が図書館のリニューアルを行いました。みんながもっと本を読みたくなるような図書館作りを行っています。楽しみにしていてください。
　夏休み中に、校舎の北側の壁の悪くなったところを直し、塗装をし直す工事が行われました。この工事はまだしばらく続くため、北側の窓が開けられなくなっています。工事が終わると、きれいな壁に生まれ変わっていると思いますので、しばらく我慢してください！

Summer Vacation is over, and school will finally reopen tomorrow. In preparation for the reopening, the teachers renovated the library today. They are creating a library that will make everyone want to read more books. Please look forward to it.
During the summer vacation, the school started to repair the damaged part of the wall on the north side of the school building and repaint it. This construction will continue for a while, so the windows on the north side cannot be opened. Please be patient; I believe the wall will be beautiful once the work is completed.

After four years of absence, the Yahiro Miwasato Town Association held a Bon festival. Many children in the West District Children's Association and our school, and the graduates gathered at the festival. They had a good time.
